ABOUT ME
Jose Miguel Valdes Rodriguez is a young scientist with a Cuban background that was born in Vancouver, BC on May 15, 2009. His interest in science started at the very young age of 5 when he started reading science text books, magazines, following space news and watching documentaries and instructional videos.
At the age of 7 he was invited to audit Astronomy 101 course at the University of Victoria. At the age of 10 he went back once more to complete Astronomy 150.
Jose's interest in science is not limited to Astronomy. He has gone into the world of biology, geography, chemistry, mathematics, physics and a lot more. He also speaks four languages; English, French, Spanish and Russian.

Jose finished all grade 12 curriculum requirements by the age of 13. On September 2022 while he was still 13, he started the Physics and Astronomy program at the University of Victoria.

Jose's main goal is to transfer his knowledge to others and, with that in mind, he has created a Youtube channel called Making Math Easy where he talks about various science topics. He has also been invited to give astronomy talks at the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory. His love for science and his academic achievements has been recognized for local news like CTV news Vancouver Island, University of Victoria's newspaper Martlet, the Times colonist, among others, where they portrait him as "A Brilliant Boy" and "Victoria's very own child prodigy".

Jose participated on the BC/Yukon Virtual Science Fair for years 2020 and 2021. For year 2020 he presented a project called "Dimensions: The Exploration of Higher Dimensional Polytopes" with which he won two prizes and his project was mentioned on the remarks made by the actor Tom Cavanagh. For year 2021 he discussed a project called "Dyson Sphere: The Megastructure of the Future" .

On his free time, Jose likes to solve Rubik's Cubes and play Chess as well as watch history videos and read books.
